1. Data Collection
We Don't Collect Your Translations
PrivTranslate operates on a zero-data collection principle. Your translations—whether text or images—are processed locally in your browser using WebGPU technology. We do not have servers that receive, process, or store your translation data.
2. Local Processing
Everything Happens on Your Device
All translation computations occur within your browser. The TranslateGemma model runs entirely on your device. This architecture means your data never leaves your browser, making it impossible for us to access, view, or leak your translations.
3. Cookies & Tracking
Minimal Technical Cookies Only
We use only essential technical cookies required for the application to function: (1) Session cookies for maintaining your language preference, (2) Cache management for storing translation models locally. No tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies are used.
4. No Account Required
No Personal Data to Protect
PrivTranslate works without requiring any account registration. Since we don't collect personal information like names, emails, or phone numbers, there is no user profile or personal data to protect or breach.
5. Server Logs
Static Hosting, No Processing
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages as a static site. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) for CDN functionality and security. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's privacy policy and are never used for tracking or analytics.
6. Third-Party Services
Open Source AI Models
We use Google's TranslateGemma model, an open-source AI model that runs locally in your browser. No data is sent to Google or any third-party API during translation. The model is loaded once from a CDN and cached locally.
7. Your Data Rights
Complete Control
Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing to request, export, or delete. Your translations exist only on your device. Optional translation history is stored locally in your browser and can be cleared at any time through browser settings.

Notification of Changes
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices. Significant changes will be posted on this page with a revised 'Last Updated' date. We encourage periodic review of this policy.
